How do I extract patient data from my e-MDs EHR?

You can extract patient information directly from your e-MDs electronic health record (EHR) system in order to receive notifications for these patients in MX Notify. To extract patient data from your e-MDs EHR system, follow these steps:

  1. Click on the Billing tab at the top of your screen

  2. Click on the Reports drop-down menu near the top of your screen

  3. Click on Crystal Reports at the bottom of the drop-down menu choices

  4. Choose the Patient Demographics report

  5. Choose desired filters for the report in the configuration window, e.g. exclude “exempt” patients (this will exclude deceased patients, etc.)

  6. On the upper left corner of this configuration window, to the left of the print icon, is an export Click on this icon

  7. Choose the save as type to be Excel (.xls)

  8. Type in a file name

  9. Choose the location to save the file (e.g. double-click “My Documents”)

  10. Click Save

  11. Wait for the window to appear that says Export complete

  12. Find the location where you saved your list and open it

  13. Save the completed report as a .CSV file

  14. Locate the new file and verify its contents and format are correct

You will have now successfully extracted your patients information from your EHR system. To get notifications in real-time whenever these patients have encounters, please submit your patient panel list via the MX SFTP site.

    Alternative approach:

    1. In the Chart module, click on Reports in the main menu, and select Registry Processor from the list displayed . The Registry Processor window will open.

    2. Click New, and put a report name such as "MX patient portal_date'

    3. Check off "Demographics" in Report Parameters. And in Report Exlusion, check off "All". Make sure Reminder Properties are NOT checked and then click Next.

    4. In the Registry Processor Demographics screen, set the appropriate demographic criteria:

      1. Patient Search by Name: All Patients

      2. Birth Sex: All

      3. Age: N/A

      4. Birth Month: N/A

      5. the second Primary Language: All

      6. leave the N/A checkbox of Location by Zip unchecked

    5. Click Next and Save the report
