How can patients change their consent status?

California is an opted-out state, meaning all patients are opted-in by default. However, patients can choose to opt-out of the network. If a patient is opted-out, you will see that noted under Consent, on the far right of the screen. If the patient is opted-out, you will not be able to access their medical record.

Patients can request to change their consent status in two ways:

  1. By submitting a form on the MX website. Click here to be directed to the form.

  2. By calling MX at 1-800-490-7617.
